LM Remote KeyMap : Beyond TV Channel Change Plugin

You can use LM Remote KeyMap to issue channel change commands through your USB-UIRT or MCE Remote blaster within Beyond TV.

To do this you first need to create an IR device within LM Remote KeyMap and learn all digits buttons used on your device.

When you press on the "Ok" button in the IR Devices Editor, LM Remote KeyMap automatically copy and update plugins into the C:\Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\Snapstream\Beyond TV\tuner directory. The plugins are Dll files with a 32 alphanumeric characters name (this is the ID of the LM Remote KeyMap devices).

Configure the plugin in Beyond TV

To use the plugin in Beyond TV you'll need to edit your video source. To do this load the Web Admin (http://localhost:8129) and go to Settings / Audio and Video Inputs and select "Edit" for the video source to be edited.

At the bottom of the page, you'll see the IR Tuner section

Simply select the correct LM Remote KeyMap device and save your change. If you cannot see any LM Remote KeyMap devices, or see a strange device name you'll need to verify this :

  •  Beyond TV must be using .Net Framework 2.0. This is the case with BTV 4.7 and up, but for all other versions, you'll need to force .Net Framework 2.0 by editing .exe.config files within the BTV program directory
  • Shut down Beyond TV. Go to the IR Devices Editor in LM Remote KeyMap, save a device (by clicking on the Ok button in the editor). Restart Beyond TV
  • Verify that plugins were copied into the C:\Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\Snapstream\Beyond TV\tuner folder (or C:\Program Data\Snapstream\Beyond TV\tuner for Windows Vista). Plugins are dll with a 32 characters long name.

Exit the source setup. Beyond TV will now use LM Remote KeyMap to change the channels. Of course the LM Remote KeyMap Blaster service needs to be running for channel change to occurs otherwise nothing will happen.
